Jubilee 2012: Everything Matters!

"I am excited about my academics. I am looking for God in my academics."
Desirae, Slippery Rock University student talking about her experience since Jubilee.

Jubilee Conference. Pittsburgh Convention Center. February 17-19th, 2012

Today we had a celebration time for God's faithfulness and work in the Jubilee conference. Desirae spoke about her time at the conference and how inspired she was by her interactions with the workshop speakers. This year's conference theme was Everything Matters. The theme reflects the truth that all of creation is God's and he cares and lays claim to all of it. For many students who compartmentalize their lives, this notion is a radical discovery which energizes their faith and their outreach to fellow students.

During the Jubilee weekend, almost 2,500 students heard the Gospel story from speakers as thoughtful as Gideon Strauss, the director of the Max Depree Leadership Center at Fuller Seminary or as impactful as David Greer, the architect who wrote "a love letter" to Pittsburgh in his design of PNC Park, or as biblically knowledgable as Richard Mouw, president of Fuller Seminary and Pastor Eric Mason, or as influential as David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group or as well known (at least in Pittsburgh!) as Steelers punter, Daniel Sepulvada. And the list goes on and on. You can view the list of Jubilee speakers here.

God was moving powerfully through the weekend and students' lives were changed. If you couldn't be there, here is a gallery of wonderful pictures by Andrew Rush to give you a glimpse of Jubilee or you can check out the Jubilee Facebook page for photos and comments from students.

Thanks for your prayers and support!
