Wilderness First Responder Training

The 80-hour Wilderness First Responder is the medical training all trip leaders have to pass in order to lead groups into the wilderness. The 10-day intensive experience is a rite of passage for outdoor leaders. I have been teaching these courses for almost 15 years through SOLO, the oldest wilderness and rescue medicine school in the country.

This week I am preparing to teach a course to will recertify some of the CCO's instructors. I am looking forward to spending this time with them and to hear the stories of their own adventures in wilderness medicine since the last time we met.

During my preparation, I ran into this clip which offers a humorous snap shot of what we will review. Enjoy.
